Society for Simulation in Healthcare

USF Health Simulation Consortium

The USF Health Simulation Consortium is one of three universities in Florida accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, however USF is the only fully accredited university in all areas of Assessment, Research, System Integration and Teaching/Education. USF College of Nursing values and implements best practices for our simulation program for best outcomes and in the education of our students.

Accreditation is an internationally recognized method of demonstrating quality to consumers and industries. By meeting the standards that have been set by the SSH Board of Review, healthcare simulation centers demonstrate that they have the knowledge, skills and facilities needed to deliver quality healthcare simulation.

International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning

The USF College of Nursing implements the INACSL 2021 Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice™ (HSSOBP™) into the development of all our simulations. The Associate Dean for Simulation, Dr. Donna McDermott, was a member of the INACSL Standards committee for over six years and was the chairperson and lead author for one of the new Standards of Best Practice: Prebriefing: Preparation & Briefing as well as member and co-author of the Simulation Design standard.

The CON faculty and staff are dedicated to developing high-quality experiential learning opportunities for our students to practice safe, evidence-based patient care.To learn more about the INACSL HSSOBP™visit the INACSL website.
