Student Awards

Green and Gold Award

To the athletic training student who exemplifies professionalism, hard work, and goes above and beyond the required duties of the athletic training student in assisting the USF Athletic Medicine staff.

Lisa Barth Memorial Most Improved Athletic Training Student Award

In memory of former athletic training student Lisa Barth, who died tragically in an automobile accident in 1994. This award is given to the athletic training student who shows the most improvement in all areas of athletic training. This award exemplified the efforts of Lisa Barth who was an outstanding athletic training student who shined through the hard work and commitment to put into the profession.

Athletic Training Director’s Award

This award is selected by the Program Director, and is given in recognition of academic accomplishment, service to the program and/or the profession, leadership, professionalism and commitment to excellence.

Athletic Training Preceptor of the Year

Clinical education is a vital part of the student’s learning experience, and our preceptors are crucial in the development and mentorship of our students. Each year, we honor a clinical instructor as Preceptor of the Year. The recipient of this award is chosen through student and faculty selection to an individual that exemplifies clinical education.

Athletic Training Student Service Award

This award goes to the AT student that has served the program and/or the profession of athletic training in an exemplary manner.

Athletic Training Student Leadership Award

Awarded to second year athletic training student recognized by fellow students as an outstanding student-leader.

The David “Doc” Leffers Athletic Training Scholarship Award

Awarded to a rising 2nd year enrolled in the athletic training program who exemplify the characteristics and greatest potential to succeed in the profession. This scholarship is named for our former department chair and honorary NATA member Doc Leffers. 

The Kennedy Family Athletic Training Scholarship Award

Awarded to an athletic training student who has demonstrated leadership and service initiatives and accomplishments related to and that have benefitted the athletic training program at the University of South Florida and positively promoted the profession of athletic training.
