Barbara Morris,
M.S., A.T.C., C.S.C.S., R.O.T

Barbara Morris is the Assistant Program Director of USF Health's Sports Medicine and Athletic Related Trauma (SMART) Institute. She is not only a certified athletic trainer (ATC), but a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and a registered orthopaedic technologist (ROT) as well.

Barbara currently oversees the SMART Outreach Program which is responsible for providing coverage and care to local high schools through the services of certified athletic trainers. She was recognized by The Tampa Bay Business Journal in 2007 as a finalist for the Community Outreach category of the Health Care Hero Award. Morris has worked extensively in sports medicine clinical settings, including athletic training outreach, industrial rehabilitation and administration. Her organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills are critical to the success of the SMART outreach component. Morris has a faculty appointment in USF's Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine where she teaches in the Athletic Training Education Program.

Morris is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association, the Southeastern Athletic Trainer's Association, the Florida Athletic Trainer's Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the American Society of Orthopaedic Professionals, holding certifications as an athletic trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, and a registered orthopaedic technologist.

Morris is currently working on a Doctorate in Health Sciences from Nova Southeastern University; she earned a Master's of Science from the University of Central Arkansas, specializing in kinesiology. Morris received a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Arkansas State University, where she was a two sport letter winner in basketball and softball.
