Current Research

University of South Florida, Menezes (PI); 12/11 - present.  HPV Infection in HIV-infected women in Chennai, India: A Pilot Study.  This study uses secondary data from YRGCARE clinic to estimate the 3-month incidence and prevalence of HPV infection at the cervix, anal canal and oropharynx in HIV-infected women in Chennai, India.

Fogarty International Center; Role: Co-Investigator, 7/07-06/12. USF-India Program in Adolescent HIV/AIDS Research Training (PAHRT). Develop collaboration between the University of South Florida and Indian Collaborators at the Vadodara Medical College, Gujarat, India to build capacity to initiate and sustain and research and training program in adolescent HIV/AIDS.

University of South Florida, Menezes (PI); 9/06-6/11. Disease Progression and Health Change Patterns Among HIV-positive Patients at the Hillsborough County Health Department. This study uses secondary data to examine a cohort of HIV-infected persons to determine disease progression and mediation factors.

University of South Florida, Menezes, Somboonwit (PI).; 1/08-8/10. HIV and Cardiovascular Risks in an Urban Setting. This study uses secondary data to examine a cohort of HIV-infected persons to assess the prevalence of both traditional and HIV/HAART related cardiovascular disease risk factors in an HIV-positive population, correlate the prevalence of any risk factor with actual cardiovascular disease endpoints

Evaluation of Cervical Cencer Screening Practices for HIV-positive Women.  This study examines secondary data to evaluate whether HIV-infected women receive CDC-recommended cervical cancer screening, and how demographic factors impact receipt of this screening.
