International Academy of Medicine
In 2010, Dean Stephen Klasko created the International Academy of Medicine to develop a network of national and international leaders committed to enhancing global medical care. This dedicated core of faculty, scientists, and practitioners work together to uncover new approaches to medical education, research, and health care delivery.
A global academy committed to improving medical care through the exchange of clinical skills, research knowledge, and services.
IAM members will share their human values, knowledge and skills through mentoring, investigating, educating and training activities, both at USF and globally. Their expertise will be utilized by USF Medicine International to enhance program delivery and services both locally and internationally.
Additionally, the IAM serves as an international forum through which its members can research, present, and learn from the various worldwide trends, strategies and medical education models. Through the IAM-Educator program, IAM members are provided a variety of academic opportunities for faculty development and enrichment.
Members of IAM are faculty from USF as well as select faculty from international institutions who have a vested interest in working collaboratively to improve medical care worldwide.
Those who are interested in participating in IAM activities but are not faculty can do so as a Friend of the Academy. This core group will be invited to participate in certain activities with international visitors as well as other activities of USF Medicine International.
