Hospital Affiliations


Tampa General Hospital



Tampa General Hospital has been affiliated with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine since the school was created in the early 1970s. Tampa General is the primary teaching affiliate of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and over 300 residents are assigned to Tampa General Hospital for specialty training in areas ranging from general internal medicine to neurosurgery. In addition, USF medical students, nurses and physical therapy students all receive part of their training at Tampa General. Faculty of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine admit and care for patients at Tampa General as do community physicians, many of whom also serve as adjunct clinical faculty.



James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital



The James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital (JAHVH) is affiliated with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine (Health Sciences Center) in North Tampa, developing a unique and close professional relationship. The hospital is connected both physically and functionally to the university. Tampa currently provides training to 196.5 USF residents and fellows; however, that number will increase to 202.5 residents beginning July 2010, which includes a new Chief Resident in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety position.  Our facility offers residency training in all major medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties.  The hospital is also a training site for medical, nursing, (more than 400), and other health care professional students. 


H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center



Moffitt Cancer Center is a not-for-profit institution. It includes private patient rooms, the Southeast’s largest Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, outpatient treatment programs that record more than 272,000 visits a year, the Moffitt Research Center, The Moffitt Clinic at Tampa General Hospital and the Lifetime Cancer Screening & Prevention Center. In 2003, Moffitt opened its doors to the Muriel Rothman Building (Moffitt Clinic) and Vincent A. Stabile Research Building. These two buildings dramatically increased the existing research and outpatient clinical space to better serve our patients


All Children’s Hospital




All Children’s Hospital is the only specialty licensed children’s hospital on Florida’s west coast. Founded in 1926, All Children’s has grown into a leading pediatric referral center that is dedicated to advancing treatment, education, research and advocacy in child health.

Morton Plant Hospital
