The Wisconsin Package (TM) for sequence analysis contains over 100 interrelated software programs. It enables scientists to analyze DNA and protein sequences by editing, mapping, comparing, and aligning them. Other programs facilitate RNA secondary structure prediction, DNA fragment assembly, and evolutionary analysis. The ninth edition of the Wisconsin Package is used by more than 30,000 scientists at over 530 institutions in 35 countries around the world. Since the project began, scientists from all over the world have collaborated to develop and refine the Wisconsin Package.

If you should experience problems with Netscape 4.7x and Windows where the browser is "crashing", you can try disabling Java in Netscape to see if this corrects the problem. This can be performed by doing the following:
After starting Netscape click on Edit --> Preferences. A Preferences dialog box will open. Click on the word "Advanced" on the lower left side of the dialog box. On the right will display a list of options, one of which is the option to disable Java. Clear the checkbox next to "Enable Java" and then click O.K. (see image below). Now try to access SeqWeb to see if the browser "crashes" still.
