Nursing Instruments
**Please note - many times the actual instrument will not appear in the article(s) discussing the instrument. It may be necessary to write the author or the administering organization to obtain a copy of the actual instrument.
Health and Psychosocial Instruments – available via the OVID database. Health and Psychosocial Instruments is an Ovid database of over 40,000 records that contains information about instruments of measurement. These include observation checklists, projective techniques, questionnaires, rating scales, and tests relevant to nursing.
Mental Measurements Yearbook - available via USF Libraries (Databases by title). Mental Measurements Yearbook is an ERLS WebSPIRS database that contains descriptive information and critical reviews of more than 2,000 commercially-available standardized English-language educational, personality, aptitude, neuropsychological, achievement, and intelligence tests. Each entry includes test name and classification; author(s); publisher, publication date; price; time requirements; existence of validity and reliability data; score descriptions; levels; and intended populations. (Also available in print form).
Databases - available via Shimberg Health Sciences Library . Certain databases require you to combine key terms or subject headings with your topic terms in order to find information on nursing instruments. Below are some suggested subject headings to use with each database.
