AHEC Access Day

About AHEC Access Day

AHEC Access Day is designed to inform high school students of career opportunities in health professions such as medicine, nursing, public health, physical therapy and pharmacy. AHEC Access Day has been very successful in educating disadvantaged and underrepresented students who have no previous exposure to higher education. It provides a forum for them to discover the possibilities available in various health professions. Approximately 250 students (15 students per school) residing in Hillsborough, DeSoto, Citrus, Manatee, Pinellas, Pasco, Charlotte, Hernando, and Sarasota counties have participated in each AHEC Access Day event. We encourage the participation of disadvantaged and underrepresented students in this event.

  • Gulfcoast North Area Health Education Center, Inc.
  • Gulfcoast South Area Health Education Center, Inc.
  • Other USF departments and organizations

Dates of AHEC Access Day: Fall and Spring of each year.
